This one shows the legendary Barghest, black hound of the north, racing up Whitby's famous 199 steps towards St Mary's church and the abbey ruins. The barghest is said to prey on unwary travellers and also to stalk those who have sinned - both of which he manages magnificently in the short story by author Sean Walter for Tales in Sombre Tones. Copies of the anthology are also available in my shop.
