Welcome to my commissions page including charcoal pencil portraits of pets and wildlife, custom album art and commercially licensed artwork. This is just a small selection of favourite pieces representing the wide variety of work I can do.

Custom album cover
I was given song lyrics by a band as a prompt for this charcoal drawing featuring two ghostly figures walking across a barren moon, lit by a dying star.

Crow album cover
Created for an indie musician, this album art features a jackdaw coming in to land with wings and claws outstretched.

Juvenile crow commission
This young crow kept coming over to investigate when I was out taking research photos. The friend that was with me at the time took a real shine to him and asked me to do a charcoal portrait :)

Jay commission
Not all of my commissions are big or complex - this lovely little jay is one of a series of 4 custom corvid drawings that were commissioned to complete a set that had started with my rook, jackdaw and crows.

Two gorgeous asian shorthair cats showing off their distinctive, unique stripes. It's always a challenge to draw pale, delicate subjects using only a black pencil but that's not stopped me yet :)

Jack 'make my day' russell commission
A charcoal portrait of a handsome jack russell terrier, worked from an original photograph by Bob Slassor.

Ozzy pet portrait commission
Oh the ears! Legend in his own lifetime, this dog - and a pleasure to do a charcoal portrait of for a friend.

Cat commission
Charcoal pencil portrait of a beautiful black cat - this particular cat had stunning pale eyes and splendid white whiskers.

Physalis still life commission
One of three still life drawings commissioned by a homeware company. I chose physalis as one of my subjects because I love the delicate papery skins that contrast so beautifully with the firm berries.

Figs still life commission
Two velvety figs drawn in charcoal pencil, originally created as part of a series for a homeware company to use on placemats and outdoor canvases.

Horror art commission
Author Sean Walter commissioned me to create this representation of a death figure for a short story he had written. He envisaged the character having a sack over its head like an executioner's hood. I made an animal skull to go under the prop sack that I used to give it a little extra other-ness.

I have written a beginner's guide to commissioning artwork, covering all the basics from cost to copyright, which I highly recommend reading if you're new here - or of course you can always just ask me :)

How to commission an artist - a quick guide to custom artwork.
I get a lot of commission requests and a good chunk of my work is custom orders, which is great but it's become clear that a lot of...
