Online exhibition of original crow drawings

Courting Corvids (a follow up to Courting Crows), in which I studied the local wild corvids around Newcastle upon Tyne. The crowdfunded series produced 33 new works including 30 unique, one off small drawings and 3 larger pieces. The drawings were exhibited at Newcastle City library before being sent out to collectors worldwide. I took the photo this drawing was done from to do a silly post on socials complaining about it hiding in a tree. Only when I got home did I realise I'd actually got a beautiful image with delicate shadows marbling the bird's striking plumage.

Watching crow

Dedicated to Kevin and Megan Stedtfeld. This one caught my eye as I (and my bag of peanuts) had caught the crows eye. They don't stand still for long, always on the go so I was very pleased to get a nice clear shot to draw from.

Drinking crow

This is one of the most unusual captures in decades of studying these birds. A short but heavy shower had soaked the birds feathers, completely changing their appearance and reflecting the bright sun that followed. It was taking the opportunity to have a drink and I managed to get the split second a droplet of rainwater was about to roll off its beak.
