This illustration captures a poignant moment in the story of a woman and the water horse she encounters. Kelpies are known for their fierce nature and so I'd like to thank Socks, who kindly lent me her bridle for this shot, because you never know... The teeth I used as props are in fact fossilised horse teeth from a local beach, which were an ideal way to describe a magical creature not bound by time.
The drawing comes complete with a copy of the story by Sean Walter.
