Tales in Somber Tones tour is funded !

Two lots of very exciting news here this week (in case you couldn't hear us yelling it from our rooftops). First up, we are proud to announce that the Tales in Sombre Tones book tour is now fully funded. Most of that came courtesy of Arts Council England who, after I filled in a terrifying number of paperwork, awarded us a grant covering most of what we needed for the tour. We had to show our commitment by raising some from other sources which is only fair so Sean and I decided to launch a Kickstarter offering signed copies of the book on publication and some exclusive prints.

To our delight, that has sailed past the initial goal within it's first week and at the time of writing, is heading towards a stretch goal. That's fantastic news, asides from topping up the grant money so we can start booking venues such as the stunning All Saints church in York (Lady Chapel pictured below), it means people are already buying the book. To join them, head over to Tales in Sombre Tones on Kickstarter where you can also listen to a reading by Sean of one of the stories which he recorded for a little pop up teaser show in October.

Obviously there's a huge amount of work still to do but it really is all coming together now. The illustrations and stories are starting to stack up, the money is in the bank, sales are happening and we've had chance to try out the physical setup in terms of the hanging system and lights. So now it's heads down to get the rest of the book together and off to the publishers - watch this space for more artwork and other fun stuff as we continue to build.
