Sean's story Addictions features two figures walking a foggy street. Living on the North Yorkshire coast, I know my fog so that bit came naturally - I'd also taken some night shots of Whitby that we'd kicked around a few times as something we both wanted to work in somewhere. This was the perfect opportunity to combine those, painting (well, penciling) a familiar scene in a new light and I gave one of the figures just enough of a twist to push the feel over from quaint to really rather creepy.
Additional image shows the work in progress and the final image, a sample illustration framed (the little figure in the bottom corner of the frame not included, that's the original Catmonkey who will be continuing his reign of terror from here).
The drawing comes complete with a copy of the story by Sean Walter.
